The 4th Annual Meeting of the BSC was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, from May 22-25, 2018
The 4th Annual Biophysical Society meeting addressed topics including Protein Structure and Dynamics, Single-Molecule Spectroscopy, Computational Biophysics, Membranes and Lipids, Emerging Imaging Techniques and Cell Mechanics.
NEW this year, attendees could plan to participate in associated events before and after the main meeting. On Tuesday afternoon May 22, trainees had the opportunity to give talks and network in our first-ever trainee-organized Biophysical Society of Canada Trainee Symposium. Registration and abstract submission for this event were incorporated into registration for the main BSC 2018 meeting.
The National Lecture was given by Natalie Strynadka from the University of British Columbia. Other keynote speakers included Barbara Baird from Cornell University, Mei Hong from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and William Ryu from the University of Toronto.
