Dr. Sivak’s interdisciplinary work has bridged the gap between theory and experiments to understand the inner workings of molecular machines and provide answers to fundamental questions in the evolutionary optimization of biomolecular structure and function.
The Biophysical Society of Canada is proud to announce two new trainee awards for 2021: the Doctoral Thesis Award (DTA) and the Trainee Paper Award
Dr. David Sivak has been chosen by the Biophysical Society of Canada to be the recipient of the 2021 Young Investigator Award. He was selected
Ahmed, Rashik (McMaster)Supervisor: Giuseppe Melacini Banh, Richard (SickKids)Supervisor: Régis Pomès Guljas, Andrea (SickKids)Supervisor: Régis Pomès Korosec, Chapin (SFU)Supervisor: Nancy Forde Munro, Rachel (U.Guelph)Supervisor: Leonid Brown
Dr. John Baenziger has been critical to the leadership, expansion and modernization of the BSC.
Dr. Leslie has pioneered and perfected a new type of molecular imaging modality named CliC (Convex Lens-Induced Confinement), allowing long-time observations of large numbers of individual molecules in natural conditions.
It is with great pleasure and on behalf on all BSC executives and BSC community I congratulate Professor John Baenziger with the 2020 Michèle Auger
Congratulations to Dr. John Rubinstein on being named the 2020 BSC National Lecturer. John Rubinstein obtained his B.Sc from the University of Guelph in 1998.
The Biophysical Society of Canada has been connecting biophysicists across Canada since 1985 through annual meetings, events, awards and programs to develop, grow and enrich Canadian biophysics research.
