Introducing a new series from the Biophysical Society of Canada: BSC Biophysicist Spotlight, where we highlight exceptional biophysicists and their research.
In the first installment, we feature Dr. Gonca Erdemci-Tandogan from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University.
Dr. Erdemci-Tandogan’s group develops theory and computational models to understand the fundamental physical mechanisms underlying biological processes. Their current research interests include collective cell behaviour, modelling embryonic developmental processes, and studying disease states of tissues. Using an interdisciplinary approach, they closely collaborate with experimental scientists to explore various developmental biophysics and cancer-related processes.
