BSC to Organize Virtual Meet Faculty Sessions during 6th Annual Biophysics Week

The Biophysical Society of Canada is pleased to be organizing Virtual Meet Faculty Sessions within the framework of the sixth annual Biophysics Week from March 22 – 26, 2021. Biophysics Week is a global effort aimed at encouraging connections within the biophysics community while raising awareness of the field and its impact among the general public, policy makers, students, and scientists.

The goal of these sessions is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with a chance to virtually meet and interact with faculty members of he Biophysical Society of Canada, inquire about their research, and learn more about potential training opportunities in the field of biophysics.

The Biophysical Society of Canada will host the following sessions:

Session 1: Introducing BSC and Executive Committee (via Zoom)

Introduction by President and Executive Committee Members
Question and Answer Period
~60-90 minutes in length

Multiple Sessions Organized by BSC Faculty Members

These sessions will be organized by BSC faculty members to introduce interested students to their home institution and the biophysical research carried out in their lab and university. These sessions will be organized by each participating faculty (as many sessions as we have participating faculty). The students will sign up for each session they choose to attend and preferably avoid any overlap.

Each faculty session will be approximately 60-90 minutes in duration.

We invite all interested BSC Faculty Members to participate in the Biophysics Week Virtual Meet Sessions. Please send the organizers an email by February 22, 2021 should you be interested in participating, and please provide your name, affiliation and your university/lab website.

Once the list of faculty members is established, we will post it on the BSC website so that each Faculty will have participants signing up for each session. Sign-ups will be available from February 22 – March 20, 2021.
