Research Summary:We build DNA-based molecular tools to study how cells physically interact using single-molecule and quantitative imaging. We focus on: (1) development of force-dependent conformational control of novel DNA structures and functions. (2) understanding and controlling intercellular mechanical interactions at the molecular level that underpin biological and pathological processes. (3) development of new single-molecule techniques combining force and fluorescence for high-throughput screening. We work at the interface of cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, nanotechnology, and bioengineering.
